CSI is the leading producer of flat rolled steel in the Western United States, producing the widest range of flat rolled steel products in the region. We are the only West Coast steel supplier capable of producing over 2 million tons of steel representing four flatroll product lines: hot rolled, pickled and oiled, galvanized, and cold rolled sheet.
Our company's quality management system has been certified to meet the requirements of ISO 9001-2015 for the production of our entire product line.

Hot Rolled
California Steel is the largest manufacturer of hot rolled steel in the Western United States. We provide a broad range of sizes and a wide range of specifications to support the variety of manufacturing applications of our customers. Our offered gauges range from 0.0538 to 0.500 inches, in widths ranging from 36 to 72 inches. We offer specifications in low and medium carbon steel, and in high-strength low alloy grades.
Known primarily for applications in the structural use of steel, CSI's customers produce spiral weld pipe, shipping containers, tubing, metal buildings and other fabrication construction. We also provide hot rolled steel to the service and processing center industries, which serve as wholesale centers or provide an even broader range of product sizes after slitting, leveling, or cutting steel to smaller sizes and shapes.

Pickled & Oiled
"Pickling" is a cleaning process used to remove the black oxide scale that forms on the steel strip after hot rolling. CSI offers a broad range of grades and gauges, with key emphasis on tight chemistry control and clean steel technology. Our offered gauges range from 0.065 to 0.250 inches, in widths ranging from 36 to 60 inches. All P & O product is processed through a modern pickle line that incorporates tension leveling, producing a product with a very flat shape and excellent surface.
Typical applications which use pickled material include automotive wheels, strapping, tubing, rack systems, and automotive stamping.

Cold Rolled
As one of the largest suppliers of cold rolled products in the Western U.S. market, CSI strives to produce cold rolled coil to meet the demands of our customers for a high surface quality. Cold rolled material is typically coated or painted, with applications including electronic cabinetry, lighting fixtures, metal office furniture, water heaters, container manufacturers, tubing, appliances, and a variety of construction related products. Our offered gauges range from 0.011 to 0.134 inches, in widths ranging from 36 to 60 inches.

Galvanized
As a leading supplier of galvanized products in the Western United States, CSI offers the broadest range of thicknesses, widths, and coatings of galvanized products. Our offered gauges range from 0.0098 to 0.138 inches, in widths ranging from 36 to 60 inches, and with coating weights from G-30 to G-235, and A-40 to A-60 for galvannealed product. Additionally, we offer RoHS compliant chemical treatment for the full size range of our standard coated product.
Galvanized coil is produced by adding a coating of zinc to cold rolled steel for additional corrosion resistance. Applications include tubing, culvert and a variety of residential and commercial construction-related products.
