CONTINUOUS PICKLE LINE

The 62" Continuous Pickle Line (CPL) is key to our strategy for producing high-quality, cost-effective, hot rolled pickled and oiled (P & O) products for our customers and for further processing on our cold reduction, galvanizing, and cold rolled sheet facilities.

"Pickling" is a cleaning process used to remove the black oxide scale that forms on the steel strip after hot rolling.

The CPL is a conventional horizontal design with a coil entry section, welder, hot water preheat tanks, acid tanks, water rinse, dryer, looper, side trimmer, coiler, oiling equipment and scale.

The 62" CPL began operations in 1994, replacing two outmoded lines. This facility is more than 750 feet long, and has a capacity of more than 1.2 million tons per year.

The management system governing the manufacture of CSI's products at the Continuous Pickle Line is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
